So, I woke up this morning really early from being off schedule. I slept for about 4 hours, so it wasn't too bad. We went to the market to get some food for breakfast, which we stuck to the Southern basics (bacon, eggs, and potatoes). Got to see my beautiful bride's face and hear her voice for a little bit, but had technical difficulties with my microphone. It's weird to be away from someone that you have shared every day (almost) for the last 3 years with. I am so thankful for her in so many ways that I am oblivious to by having her around all of the time.

After everyone was up and ready, we wandered to the train station and went to the marina district. The architecture was amazing there. A hotel literally has a boat sitting on top of it. We found huge fans that turned on by touching the pole at the boardwalk. We walked to the top of the 4-story shopping center to look out on the scenery. At the mall, there was a bowl-shaped fountain that formed a whirlpool, which flowed down through a hole to form a waterfall into a river that ran down through the center of the mall. You could take a boat ride down it.

We met up with Dr. Ryan at his hotel in Chinatown, and hung around there with him and a faculty member from the seminary here for the rest of the day. We ate at a food court area and visited a Hindu temple. It was nice to talk with them and learn about the plans for the week.

Being this is my first time in a different country, I must say that I am thrilled to be here. It is such an amazing place and full of new experiences. I am eager to see how I feel after 5 weeks here. I've always felt like living for a certain amount of time in an Asian country, so we will see. As of now, I feel very blessed to have the opportunity and loving every minute of it. The only thing missing is Ginger, but one can only have so much blessings at one time. :)
